Vivienne Tam showcases blue-chip NFTs at New York Fashion Week with her fresh collection. collection , “Weaving into the Metaverse.”

Known for fusing Eastern and Western elements into her work, Tam drew inspiration from futuristic urban landscapes, gaming culture, and the web3 paradigm for this season. The designs feature symbols from an ancient Chinese script intertwined with popular NFTs like the Bored Ape Yacht Club profile pics, Doodles, CryptoPunks, and Meebits.

With this collection, Vivienne Tam aims to create a strong connection between the tangible and digital worlds. To accomplish this, her presentation took place both live and in the metaverse, where the virtual setup—crafted by the web3 real estate service Propy—reflected the physical location. Attendees in the metaverse enjoyed a red carpet, runway presentations, backstage areas, complete with stunning views of New York City. Live DJs and hosts brought the same vibrant atmosphere to the virtual event as experienced in the physical show.

It's significant to point out that Tam's presentation received backing from CyberPort, a web3 incubator based in Hong Kong, where she is an active member. Tam isn't unfamiliar with NFTs, having previously incorporated images from CryptoPunks, BAYC, and CyberKongz into her Spring/Summer 2023 fashion lineup.

As a noteworthy aside, Vivienne Tam isn't the first designer to present her collection in the metaverse. Just a week ago, the American brand BCBGMaxAzria collaborated with celebrity stylist Maeve Reilly to showcase their joint effort. collection in Decentraland.
