The popular YouTuber BitBoy Crypto, with a substantial online following, is pursuing legal action against Atozy, alleging both defamation and causing emotional distress.

BitBoy Crypto, whose real name is Ben Armstrong, is a 39-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia. As one of the leading figures in cryptocurrency vlogging, his channel primarily focuses on offering 'financial insights' regarding crypto investments, often venturing into promoting risky ventures to his audience.
For example, Armstrong has publicly discussed Shibainu, suggesting it could lead to financial freedom for its supporters. He also famously stated, 'Bitcoin is heading for $20 million a coin.' Additionally, he encouraged his followers to invest in the platform Celsius, but when it declared bankruptcy, he quickly turned against the company online.
It's clear that BitBoy Crypto has led many of his followers into considerable financial setbacks.
In November 2021, Atozy, who goes by the name Erling Mengshoel and has amassed 1.2 million followers, released a video titled 'This YouTuber Scams His Fans,' in which he labeled BitBoy a 'dirtbag' for promoting crypto frauds. Following this, Atozy received multiple legal notices, culminating in an actual lawsuit from Ben Armstrong.
The federal lawsuit indicates that the damages claimed exceed $75,000. BitBoy Crypto is charging Atozy with several counts including defamation, emotional distress, deceptive business practices, and interference with potential business opportunities.

In the wake of the lawsuit, Erling Mengshoel has opted to initiate a crowdfunding campaign to cover his legal defense expenses.

He stated, 'All contributions will directly contribute to my legal fees. Should there be any remaining funds, I intend to donate them to multiple charities, as I have no desire to profit from my community.'
The Twitter and YouTube accounts of the British Army have fallen victim to hacks aimed at promoting NFT projects.
