After  selling the iconic NFT In collaboration with Socios.com, an entertainment-oriented blockchain, FC Barcelona is fast-tracking its Web3 initiatives. The parent company, Chiliz, will invest €100 million to acquire a 24.5% stake in the club's Barça Studios.

This financial boost will enable FC Barcelona’s audiovisual segment to transition into the Web3 realm while enhancing its strategies for blockchain and NFTs. Moreover, this partnership introduces exposure to Chiliz Chain 2.0, which is the premier Layer-1 blockchain tailored for the sports sector.

Barcelona’s president Joan Laporta  mentioned Socios.com will oversee the launch of new NFTs, fan tokens, and the expansion of FC Barcelona’s presence in the Metaverse via their 24.5% share in Barça Studios.

Socios.com specializes in fan tokens and has successfully launched FC Barcelona's own cryptocurrency, with reports indicating that over $39 million in fan tokens have been sold to date. This Web3 company is poised to enhance the club's digital strategy to foster connections with its 400 million fans worldwide.
