The pre-sale is currently underway, while the public sale will begin both in-store at Macy's and online starting from October 17.
Entrepreneur Gary Vee’s NFT project VeeFriends The collaboration with Macy's and Toys“R”Us breathes life into NFTs, allowing these digital artworks to manifest as beloved toy characters.
Launching on October 17, the exclusive series of figure and plush collectibles provides fans the opportunity to own a physical version of their favorite VeeFriends character. Every collectible will include a QR code that leads to a 3D animated short or a musical piece associated with the character.
Among the six collectible characters are Be The Bigger Person, Willful Wizard, Gratitude Gorilla, Practical Peacock, Genuine Giraffe, and Common Sense Cow. Gary Vee personally chose these from a larger collection of 283 characters in VeeFriends' inaugural series.
Gary Vee commented on how remarkable it is to see VeeFriends being displayed in Toys“R”Us and Macy's, reminiscing fondly:
“I cherished my childhood experiences in Edison, New Jersey, wandering through the aisles of these very stores. We've selected characters that we believe will be appealing for novice collectors, reminiscent of the toys I once picked up on the shelves of Toys “R” Us. I eagerly anticipate their presence in stores—this feels like a full-circle moment for me and a major milestone for our brand.”
Certain holders of VeeFriend NFTs will enjoy exclusive early access to both plush and vinyl figure launches. Additionally, community members will be granted priority for RSVP and events held in stores.
“This is just another way we aim to engage with our community, showcasing the evolution of the intellectual property behind these characters,”
stated Andy Kraniak, president of VeeFriends.
Designed by the British entertainment firm Toikido, the plush collectibles (10 inches) will retail for $24.99, while the figure collectibles (6 inches) will be available for $29.99. They are already open for pre-order and will be offered at macys.com as well as in Macy's physical locations. For customers outside the U.S., purchases will be handled through shop.veefriends.com . The public sale begins on October 17.
Gary Vee will organize two in-store appearances to mark the occasion: events will take place in Chicago on October 17 and in New York City on October 21, with Gary Vee also participating in a live streaming event hosted by Macy's.
