Today, Unstoppable Domains officially announced its entry into the OMA3 Board of Directors (Open Metaverse Alliance for Web3), a collaboration of companies focused on establishing standards for a decentralized metaverse.
As part of the OMA3 board, Unstoppable Domains will collaborate with the Portaling and Mapping Working Group to create standardized protocols for Web3 land domains in the metaverse. This initiative aligns with the group’s vision of developing a transparent marketplace for Web3 land domains.
Renowned for providing blockchain-based domain names that enhance the digital identity of Web3 users, Unstoppable Domains is now diversifying into the realm of metaverse lands. These Web3 land domains are crafted to be universal and interoperable, facilitating users to access their virtual plots with ease. This innovative offering allows individuals to teleport directly to a designated area within the metaverse instead of merely navigating between various realms.
Standardization is crucial for preventing conflicts and duplications across different virtual environments; this ensures the consistent and effective use of Web3 land domains. Not only will this refine the usability of these domains, but it will also create a cohesive experience for both developers and users alike.

Unstoppable Domains is a participant in the Web3 Domain Alliance and will synchronize efforts between this alliance and OMA3. Established last year, the Web3 Domain Alliance is a member-led organization devoted to advancing technological and public policy frameworks for users of blockchain naming solutions.
