The Umoja Foundation is launching a unique charity NFT collection dedicated to helping orphans in Uganda, coinciding with the spirit of Giving Tuesday.
In Brief
Purchasing an Umoja NFT plays a vital role in supporting the orphans and the disadvantaged community linked with the Dasom Ministries Orphanage in Uganda.

Web3 philanthropic initiative Umoja Foundation The Umoja Foundation is all set to introduce its first charity NFT collection on November 28, perfectly timed with Giving Tuesday.
By merging Web3 technology with charitable efforts, Umoja's NFT initiative channels human creativity to create positive, tangible impacts. Developed by those it aims to support, each NFT sold provides direct assistance to orphans and the underserved community connected with the Dasom Ministries Orphanage.
These NFTs, distinguished by their captivating design, are generated through a creative process guided by the imaginative contributions of 17 talented children residing at the orphanage, led by Joel Muwonge.
These young dreamers share their visions, such as “A lion carries a boy on its back, sprinting through a river” or “A woman in a white dress walks through a field filled with blue and white flowers”. These ideas, combined with artistic insight from Umoja’s founder, Tiffany Stewart, are input into a generative art program that produces extraordinary and whimsical NFTs.
The revenue obtained from selling Umoja NFTs will directly aid Dasom Ministries, addressing essential needs like food, medical care, education, and clothing. Furthermore, it will finance significant projects, including developing a larger home, obtaining a vehicle for transportation, and launching a clean water initiative.
Over a remarkable span of 17 days (reflecting the 17 children supported by Dasom Ministries), a collection of 250 distinctive NFT artworks will be available for purchase. This lineup will consist of 200 pieces with 30 copies each and 50 exclusive one-of-a-kind editions. Umoja aims to make charitable contributions within the web3 space accessible to everyone, pricing each NFT in their first collection at around $100 USD in Ethereum equivalence.
Available solely on the Rarible platform, any subsequent sales of Ethereum-based Umoja NFTs will generate royalties that feed back into the foundation’s continuous projects. Umoja emphasizes the importance of NFT resales in their business model, underscoring their potential as investments that yield meaningful benefits. Each resale will channel 7% of royalties back to Umoja, ensuring a steady influx of resources while also enabling further outreach efforts for Dasom Ministries.
Looking ahead, Umoja envisions the launch of more NFT collections that will embrace animated and physical pieces, widening their mission to support not only communities in Uganda but also those across Africa and beyond.
