In Brief
Ubisoft has officially launched a captivating collection of NFT avatars that include beloved characters Rayman and 'Captain Laserhawk' for the vibrant universe of The Sandbox.

Game studio Ubisoft , a gaming giant famed for its AAA titles like Assassin’s Creed, proudly introduces new NFT Avatars, showcasing Rayman and 'Captain Laserhawk' for The Sandbox .
Currently, Ubisoft is establishing itself as one of the forefront major players in the video game industry, particularly within the blockchain realm. The company is broadening its reach by launching an exciting new set of NFT avatars designed for The Sandbox metaverse.
The Sandbox is a virtual world developed for mobile devices and Microsoft Windows by Pixowl Game Studio, which was released on May 15, 2012.
Ubisoft is set to include NFT avatars inspired by its latest Netflix animated series, 'Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix,' into The Sandbox universe. This show, which caters to an adult audience, features a blend of characters and franchises from Ubisoft's rich history.
The Ethereum scaling network, Polygon, will also debut a collection of 1,866 unique player avatars, showcased as NFTs. These avatars include fresh interpretations of iconic Ubisoft heroes like Rayman, as well as Jade and Pey'j from the legendary game Beyond Good & Evil.
These avatars encapsulate a futuristic, cyberpunk flair that echoes the aesthetic of the show. Although pricing details remain under wraps from both The Sandbox and Ubisoft, the minting process is set to take place on November 29.
Ubisoft's NFT Ventures in The Sandbox
Earlier this year, Ubisoft debuted Sandbox avatars inspired by its iconic Rabbids franchise in February, pulling elements from the Rayman series. Each avatar was initially priced at 100 SAND, which currently equates to around $42, a drop from the $78 valuation in February.
The animated series 'Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix' derives from the Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon game, integrating familiar characters and nods to various Ubisoft franchises, including Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell, and Ghost Recon.
Ubisoft has shown a significant commitment to the Web3 landscape, with a recent announcement regarding a complimentary Ethereum NFT drop for an upcoming title, Champions Tactics, on the Oasys blockchain. Furthermore, the publisher disclosed a new partnership with Immutable , a gaming platform connected to Immutable X and Immutable zkEVM networks.
Ubisoft's journey into the blockchain space spans several years, marked by introducing in-game Tezos NFT items in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint back in late 2021. The company also has openly supported the Cronos and Hedera ecosystems, developed a spin-off game influenced by the NFT fantasy soccer platform Sorare, and launched Rabbids as NFT avatars on Reddit.
