Through this program, healthcare providers situated in various countries can log into the metaverse to complete their exams or engage in interviews, while assessors based in the UAE oversee the proceedings virtually. The relevant information regarding exams and interviews will be disseminated electronically, streamlining the accreditation process for international medical professionals looking to work in the UAE.
Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, the assistant undersecretary at MoHAP, illustrates this process: 'Imagine a doctor located in Australia; they can connect through the metaverse alongside three examiners positioned in different healthcare institutions across the UAE, effectively creating a united panel in a virtual setting.'
In order to mitigate cheating risks, examiners will utilize AI to track candidates' eye movements and facial expressions, enabling them to spot any signs of external assistance or distractions.
While the UAE has successfully held remote exams for healthcare professionals below the consultant and specialist level for many years, certain candidates abroad were still required to physically attend interviews in the UAE. The new metaverse approach eliminates that necessity, offering a more convenient interview process from their home countries.
In the past year, a variety of metaverse projects have been initiated in the UAE by both governmental and private entities.
