Tommy Hilfiger Unveils Plans for a Metaverse Show During New York Fashion Week
Esteemed fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger is set to present a unique virtual show at New York Fashion Week. This Fall 2022 event will occur both in the physical realm and within the Metaverse.
The live event is scheduled for September 11 at the Skyline Drive-In in Brooklyn, while the digital experience will unfold in the Roblox version of New York City.
Attendees will have the chance to buy exclusive digital items specifically for Roblox. In addition, the physical apparel will also be available for purchase through the innovative “See Now, Buy Now” model.
Tommy Hilfiger expressed, “When I began my journey in fashion, it was all about the fusion of style, art, music, and entertainment. This creative synergy continues to inspire me as I connect with avant-garde communities crafting remarkable experiences. This season celebrates the intersection of my cherished vintage inspirations with fresh live event formats and virtual realms. It’s a vivid reflection of our identity, paying tribute to our origins with a comeback to NYFW.”
Earlier this March, Hilfiger was among the designers featured in Metaverse Fashion Week held in Decentraland, where he showcased the Spring 2022 Collection alongside unique NFTs themed around digital innovation.
In June, Hilfiger took a significant step in the Metaverse by launching ‘Tommy Play’ within Roblox, providing a platform where the community can gather, engage in games, and connect with one another.
