TikTok is trialing an AI chatbot called Tako, which will engage users regarding short videos and assist in content discovery. During this limited testing phase, Tako will be positioned on the right side of the TikTok interface, just above the user's profile and the buttons for likes, comments, and bookmarks. Users are encouraged to pose various questions to Tako about the videos they are watching, using natural language, or to ask for new content suggestions.
According to Reuters , Tako appears as a ghost-shaped icon. While viewing videos, users can tap this icon to start text conversations and get help in finding content.
Tako can suggest It poses queries to users about the video they are watching and suggests videos related to specific topics. If users seek recommendations, the AI chatbot will generate a list of options, including the title, creator, and category of the video. Users can then click on a video thumbnail to access the content.
