Starting in the upcoming Fall semester, the University of Pennsylvania is opening its doors to a course centered around the Metaverse.

The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania is promoting a six-week Metaverse course titled 'Business in the Metaverse Economy,' targeting individuals in technology and business sectors.

'Business in the Metaverse Economy' is all set for an in-depth exploration over six weeks, requiring students to dedicate between 8 to 10 hours each week. Participants will delve into the technology and trends that are sculpting the Metaverse landscape, investigate innovative strategies, and scrutinize market conditions. The program features hands-on experiences within the Metaverse, insightful case studies, and numerous networking opportunities, allowing students to engage and collaborate through classes and 'open office hours.' offers The University of Pennsylvania has teamed up with the tech consulting firm Prism Group to curate the course materials for this program.

Professor Kevin Werbach, the academic director at the Wharton School, stated, 'The Metaverse represents a vast and significant shift that remains largely uncharted. Our goal is to prepare business leaders, consultants, and entrepreneurs to grasp the emerging prospects the Metaverse offers, while providing them with actionable insights to forge valuable solutions.'

Commencing in September, this program will be accessible for a fee of $4,500, and registration through BBC is currently available.

Notably, the University of Pennsylvania is paving the way as the first Ivy League institution to introduce a program on Metaverse studies. Other universities, like the University of Tokyo, are also launching courses related to the Metaverse and crypto.
