Agencies associated with The Sandbox ecosystem engage in a deep dive into challenges related to the metaverse through a series of Twitter Spaces AMA sessions.

In Brief

During the Twitter Spaces AMA coordinated by X100, developers from The Sandbox ecosystem engaged in discussions surrounding the metaverse's pressing challenges.

Key discussion topics ranged from financial strategies and funding mechanisms to marketing insights and integrating non-crypto users into the ecosystem.

Esteemed guests at the Twitter Spaces AMA included Kriskay Choo from CGame Studio, Wing Woo of ERM Labs, and Tenn, who drives corporate strategy at Parapluie Studio.

The Twitter Spaces AMA provided a platform for an in-depth exploration of ongoing issues within the metaverse, touching on financial management and attracting new users. X100 , agencies appointed by The Sandbox ecosystem A variety of seasoned professionals joined the Twitter Spaces discussion, including Kriskay Choo, the Chief Strategy Officer at CGame Studio.

To assist brands in establishing their intellectual properties within the virtual realm, The Sandbox has appointed four prominent agencies. CGame Studio, based in Singapore, has emerged as a frontrunner, having grown alongside the platform from its early days. CGame Studio ; Wing Woo, founder of ERM Labs ; Tenn, Corporate Strategy Lead at Parapluie Studio ; and Jacque, founder of Demo Corp .

CGame Studio offers comprehensive services such as land leasing, which allows community members to utilize virtual real estate for advertising, thereby enabling asset monetization. The studio also specializes in voxel designs for NFTs and provides training and advertising opportunities within The Sandbox.

ERM Labs, located in Australia, is focused on crafting e-commerce solutions specifically tailored for the entertainment sector. Their approach involves digitalizing aspects of game design and architecture to create engaging meta experiences, with a diverse portfolio comprising over 650 IPs and partnerships with leading escape room franchises.

Originating from Thailand, Parapluie Studio lends its expertise to brands looking to navigate the complexities of game and metaverse development, including NFT integrations and bespoke virtual experiences. Demo Corp, also from Thailand, specializes in orchestrating marketing and advertising events in the metaverse, encompassing a wide range of experiences from concerts to fashion shows.

Tackling the local challenges and integrating new brands and users into the metaverse remains a focal point.

Discussing the challenges of welcoming users into the metaverse, particularly in Singapore, Kriskay Choo highlighted ongoing issues. The surge of metaverse companies has not yet translated to matured digital spending habits among locals, particularly following the FTX collapse. Many residents had shifted their crypto investments to FTX when Binance ceased operations in the region.

Choo stressed the need for a paradigm shift in how we perceive the metaverse, especially in light of current sentiments predominated by artificial intelligence. Many believe the metaverse is no longer viable; Choo encourages a reconsideration, advocating for e-commerce and narrative-building as legitimate metaverse applications.

Wing Wu from ERM Labs also chimed in, noting that in Australia, large segments of the population are still unaware of Web3 or blockchain. To combat this ignorance, ERM Labs is creating educational opportunities aimed at demystifying the Web3 landscape.

Discussion about the influence of AR, VR, and AI on the metaverse gathered momentum as Wu explained that exposure to AI tends to open up awareness of Web3, deeming the societal impact of these technologies unavoidable.

“Those who ride this wave will greatly benefit and thank themselves for dedicating time to learning about AI, VR, and AR—not just theorizing, but applying this knowledge in practical, personal ways,” he expressed.

The studio is poised for local brands to engage more with the metaverse, constructing a Sandbox academy to enlighten potential clients and brands about the various business opportunities in this virtual domain.

Sustaining a reliable income stream is vital.

CGame Studios sustains itself by being part of The Sandbox's Game Maker Fund, securing funding for its game development initiatives upon approval for their projects.

“We chose Sandbox initially for its structured approach and various funding avenues, like the Creators Fund and Game Maker Fund. Since we deliver quality games, we secured funding for our development projects through the Game Maker Fund,” Wu elaborated.

Looking ahead, CGame Studios intends to reinforce its model by incorporating NFT sales as a pivotal strategy for expansion.

On the other hand, ERM Labs offers a competitive $5 fee for Web2 users, granting them access to multiple metaverse escape room games, actively working to onboard more Web2 users into this digital realm.

“We are rolling out this project by activating each escape room successively, allowing us to test the market and evaluate the effectiveness of our revenue model,” Wu shared.

Parapluie Studio has the advantage of having already won over investors, as its corporate strategy lead Tenn pointed out the struggles new startups face in obtaining funding, especially for groundbreaking projects tied to the metaverse.

“This is an emerging industry that people may be aware of, but their need for it is still uncertain. It requires a concerted effort and time to educate both individuals and brands,” Tenn remarked.

Much like CGame Studios, Parapluie also benefits from financial support through both the Game Maker Fund and the Creator Fund from The Sandbox. Building upon this perspective, Demo Corp's Jacque indicated that metaverse projects must diversify their income streams to thrive. Besides crafting metaverse experiences, Demo Corp is also developing augmented reality projects.

Adapting to an ever-changing metaverse landscape is essential, and each agency has found its niche with distinct offerings. Keep an eye out for the upcoming Twitter Spaces AMA featuring Pavlo Vinnyk, the founder of...
