A decentralized platform for virtual worlds The Sandbox announced its collaboration with the mobile Web3 gaming platform Upland . This partnership seeks to bolster and promote community involvement and creation across both digital spaces.

In the initial stage of the collaboration, the aim is to motivate both communities to discover and interact with each platform. The Sandbox will distribute its virtual area’s assets properties to LAND holders in Upland. Concurrently, community members of Upland, known as 'Uplanders,' will have chances to earn SAND tokens and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) by undertaking tasks within The Sandbox.
Moreover, this partnership will facilitate both platforms in establishing a shared presence within each other's digital worlds. Upland is set to establish its headquarters on a 6x6 piece of LAND in The Sandbox, while The Sandbox will secure a neighborhood in one of Upland’s cities.
Both companies are heavily invested in building an open metaverse. The Sandbox, a branch of Animoca Brands, along with Upland, an Animoca Brands innovative company in the sector, are founding members of the Open Metaverse Alliance for Web3 (OMA3). Additionally, to commemorate the launch, The Sandbox Upland and The Sandbox will jointly host a design contest to highlight the creativity and skills of both communities. Participants will have the chance to propose designs for Upland’s headquarters within The Sandbox or voxel-style structures intended for exclusive display in The Sandbox’s neighborhood within Upland.
