The Nelson Mandela Foundation is gearing up to release a brand new NFT collection.
To commemorate Mandela Day, the Nelson Mandela Foundation is rolling out an NFT collection that will spotlight the legacy of South Africa's former president.
Nelson Mandela, who left us in 2013, made a remarkable impact on the globe. In 2009, the United Nations declared July 18 as Mandela International Day to honor his contributions.

Partnering with NFT platform Glorious Digital, the Nelson Mandela Foundation will be launching this NFT project. Glorious Digital operates on the CENNZ blockchain, an environmentally friendly Ethereum side chain, and will have access to Mandela’s personal items, photographs, and documents throughout a decade-long collaboration that aims to celebrate Mandela's life and achievements.
A portion of the proceeds from NFT sales will be donated to the Nelson Mandela Foundation, supporting initiatives that foster communities by leveraging Mandela’s legacy.
"Being given the responsibility to handle Mandela’s archives, his beliefs in unity, hope, leadership, equality, and freedom is a tremendous honor,\" remarked Tim Harper, the CEO of Glorious Digital.
While an official release date for the NFTs hasn't been confirmed yet, interested parties can register their interest through Glorious Digital's platform. website to receive updates on the project.
In June, Glorious created “The Centenary Collection” In collaboration with Wimbledon, notable moments from the prestigious tennis tournament have been transformed into NFTs to mark the centennial of the event.
