In April, The Sandbox partnered with Planet Hollywood, launching the Meta Hollywood project and releasing an exciting trailer that gives a glimpse into the future for cinema fans. Meanwhile, Decentraland is stepping into the film sector as well, collaborating with Versus Entertainment and Lumiere to produce a film titled 'The Infinite Machine'.
Meta Hollywood is set up as a community-driven ecosystem in Web3 for entertainment enthusiasts. It will transform classic film moments into NFTs and aims to merge the realms of Web3 and Hollywood while cultivating a vast community for film lovers and creators to connect within a movie-inspired metaverse, all sustained by utility tokens and an NFT marketplace.
The trailer for Meta Hollywood features iconic movie characters like Terminator, Slimer, Robocop, Gizmo, and Chucky, reimagined in a pixelated and game-inspired style that mirrors the avatars seen in The Sandbox.
'The Infinite Machine' embraces decentralization.
This upcoming film, inspired by Camilla Russo's 'The Infinite Machine: How an Army of Crypto-Hackers Is Building the Next Internet with Ethereum', promises a narrative about Vitalik Buterin and the journey behind the creation of the second-largest cryptocurrency. It's being produced by the Ethereum community utilizing ETH technology.
The film project This project aims to create NFTs which will represent entry tickets to the Infinity Machine DAO. Members of this DAO will have the chance to witness the film's production as it unfolds within the Decentraland Metaverse, with a projected release date at the end of 2023 or early 2024.
