Based in Switzerland, the Tezos Foundation is a non-profit that operates within the Tezos blockchain environment. Its mission is to spearhead efforts that ensure the project's long-term viability, backed by around £1 billion in funding.
This newly established fund aims to invest in NFTs crafted by talented artists from Asia and Africa.
A future permanent collection is set to be curated by an esteemed individual. Misan Harriman The curator is a British photographer who oversees the Southbank Centre in London. Notably, Misan made history as the first Black photographer to grace the cover of British Vogue in 2020.
Harriman is committed to acquiring NFT artwork from emerging talents in Asia and Africa. Due to restrictive cryptocurrency regulations in various Asian and African nations, individuals face challenges in trading freely. This project seeks to uplift artists from historically overlooked regions.
Harriman stated, 'As the inaugural curator of this collection, I aim to showcase the diverse voices that are creating exceptional crypto art. We intend to serve as the guardians for this new wave of creative talent.'
The collection will become an enduring feature on the Tezos Foundation site, launching in the summer of 2022.
