TeamViewer Teams Up with Almer to Use Arc 2 Headsets for Enhanced Remote Support through Augmented Reality

In Brief

In a significant move, TeamViewer has partnered with Almer to leverage its innovative Arc 2 AR headset aimed at boosting remote teamwork and productivity.

TeamViewer, a leader in remote IT solutions, proudly announces its collaboration with Almer, an up-and-coming AR tech company, to utilize the Arc 2 headset. This device enables teams to engage as if they were together in the same space, while seamlessly integrating essential information into their real-world surroundings. augmented reality \"This technology will enhance communication and provide real-time guidance between professionals and frontline workers across diverse locations. By projecting digital instructions onto the immediate environment, we empower workers with clear guidance, thus driving up efficiency and productivity,\" said Sebastian Beetschen, Almer's CEO and co-founder, regarding the partnership with Metaverse Post.

One of the key applications of this innovative technology is assisting logistics teams. Beetschen pointed out that augmented reality devices can offer detailed, step-by-step guidance to logistics personnel, ensuring that they execute their tasks both accurately and efficiently.

Moreover, this cutting-edge technology is capable of automatically verifying the completion of tasks, optimizing workflow and reducing the likelihood of errors.

The Arc 2, Almer’s newest model, is equipped with a 25MP camera, advanced beamforming microphones, built-in speakers, and a see-through holographic display, boasting an impressive battery life of eight hours. The company claims that this device is only 138 grams, making it significantly lighter—by four times—than Apple's Vision Pro.

"Its image quality is outstanding, even exceeding that of leading products like the Vision Pro, providing a remarkable 120 pixels per degree. Plus, it has rapid charging features, enabling users to achieve an 80% power boost in just 15 minutes,\" Beetschen explained.

Accelerating Industrial Productivity through AR Innovations Apple This strategic partnership allows TeamViewer to tap into new potential within the industrial sector, while also enabling Almer to broaden its horizons and promote AR technology's adoption.

"Around 80% of the global workforce operates outside of traditional office desks, many of whom currently derive minimal benefits from digital transformation. There lies immense potential for boosting efficiency and productivity by integrating digital solutions into frontline work and bridging this vast segment of the workforce with their organizations’ backend systems,\" Mei Dent, TeamViewer's chief product and technology officer, remarked.

"Our collaborative offering with Almer invites businesses to witness how Augmented Reality can unveil new opportunities for operations and can significantly speed up their digital transformation initiatives,\" Dent added.

Sebastian Beetschen pointed out that \"downtime of machinery can cost businesses up to $50,000 per minute,\" highlighting the substantial cost-saving advantages that AR could bring to machine maintenance. He also stressed the economic benefits and potential return on investment (ROI) for organizations utilizing this technology.

The servicing of all operational machines for the ten largest tooling manufacturers in the DACH region alone hovers around £7.9 billion annually,\" added Beetschen.

Almer was established in 2021 by Sebastian Beetschen and Timon Binder. Having worked on the Hololens 2 at Microsoft Research, Sebastian believed the potential for AR extended well beyond bulky, cumbersome headsets.

“The cost-saving potential of using AR Beetschen was determined to create a more lightweight, comfortable, and economically accessible AR device, collaborating with Timon, a former jet pilot who saw the immense potential. Timon's background with AR technology in fighter jets contributed to the development of the Almer Arc headset.

Initially, Almer is concentrating its efforts on the Swiss market but has plans to expand into the DACH region—encompassing Germany, Austria, and Switzerland—before aiming for a global reach.
