The Layer-1 blockchain has been awarded the top prize at the Eurasia Awards while undergoing a phase of remarkable expansion and acknowledgment.
Sui Sui, the layer 1 blockchain that has witnessed tremendous growth since its mainnet launch in 2023, emerged victorious at the Eurasia Awards during the second edition of AIBC Eurasia held in Dubai. This prestigious event, recognized for attracting leading figures and prior winners like Animoca Brands and Crypto.com, celebrated the outstanding achievements of the Sui Foundation that have transpired over recent months. Notable contenders for the 2024 accolade included Near Protocol and 1inch Network.
Sui's accolades have coincided with a notable surge in its influence within the blockchain sector. In recent months, the Sui ecosystem has made significant advancements, surpassing $600 million in Total Value Locked (TVL), placing it firmly within the top 10 DeFi ecosystems. Additionally, analysis through Wormhole, a prominent cross-chain protocol facilitating Sui, indicates that over 64% of nearly $500 million in funds moved from Ethereum in the past month ended up in Sui.
The decision regarding the award was finalized on February 11, with the event and announcement being celebrated on February 25 at the Festival Arena in Dubai. Sui's commitment to pushing blockchain technology's frontiers, illustrated through its latest partnerships and growth initiatives, has solidified its reputation as a key industry player.

The distinguished panel responsible for selecting Sui as Blockchain of the Year comprised industry veterans and business leaders such as Olga Yaroshevsky (Ph.D. and AIBC’s Lead Producer), Pavel Matveev (CEO at Wirex), and Giacomo Arcaro (a notable seed investor and Ethereum advocate).
