Wyoming emerged as the state with the highest enthusiasm for the metaverse, with a remarkable 40.7% of related tweets expressing supportive sentiments. The most favorable perceptions of the metaverse are predominantly found in the western U.S., while many of the states with the least favorable views are situated on the East Coast. Notable is North Dakota, which reported the most negative attitude, with 21.6% of tweets reflecting critical views.
