The results of the survey revealed that a commendable 77% of participants view AI favorably within their workflows, and 70% are either currently using or planning to incorporate AI tools this year. Among the reported benefits, 33% noted improved productivity while 25% mentioned enhanced learning speed. However, some developers remain wary of the accuracy of these systems.

Trust in coding AI tools is an aspect that needs careful consideration, as only 3% of participants expressed complete confidence, while 39% showed partial trust, 22% were skeptical, and 5% had no trust whatsoever.
Interestingly, ChatGPT, the AI tool responsible for drafting this article, emerged as a preferred choice for 83% of participants, although not every developer reported satisfaction with this new collaboration in their workflows.

Among these, 44% are actively employing AI tools, with an additional 26% planning to onboard them soon. Most notably, 77% have a positive perspective on using AI tools in their workflows, although variations exist among different demographics.
The most significant advantage cited by 33% of participants for using AI tools is heightened productivity, while 42% expressed confidence in the accuracy of AI-generated outputs during their development tasks.
Interestingly, around 30% of seasoned developers mentioned they are not using AI tools and have no future plans to do so, while those learning to code are more inclined to adopt these technologies. This gap implies that emerging developers appreciate the benefits of AI tools, likely because they assist in accelerating their learning curve. Conversely, experienced developers may be more cautious, reflecting on past technological fads and seeking solid evidence of value before fully embracing AI.


The survey data indicated a trend where the willingness to adopt AI tools diminishes with increasing professional experience. Developers with five years or less in the field were more open to adopting these technologies, while nearly 40% of those with over 21 years of experience denied any plans to use such tools.
In terms of geography, developers from India, Brazil, and Poland showed the highest likelihood of employing or planning to integrate AI tools into their workflows, whereas those from the UK, France, the US, and Germany appeared less inclined to do so.
Attitudes towards AI tools correspond with the trends seen among developers using or considering their use. Site reliability engineers and security specialists reported the highest rate of negative perceptions (6%), likely due to their awareness of the potential threats involved with AI applications.
When inquiring about the perks of AI tools, professional developers identified heightened productivity as the primary benefit (37.4%), succeeded by enhanced efficiency (27.9%) and expedited learning (27.4%). Meanwhile, developers honing their skills highlighted faster learning (42.4%) and increased productivity (41.5%), with improvements in efficiency (33.7%) as a secondary benefit.
