A partnership between Sorare and the NBA is paving the way for an innovative NFT fantasy basketball game.

The French startup Sorare is now the official NFT Fantasy partner of the NBA. NBA This Ethereum-based sports gaming platform has formed a long-term collaboration with the NBA and the NBA Players Association, granting them the rights to use official logos from the NBA league and its teams. The highly anticipated free-to-play NFT fantasy basketball game is scheduled to debut this fall, coinciding with the 2022-23 NBA season.

Players on Sorare can gather NFT cards that symbolize real athletes, allowing them to form teams and compete in tournaments based on actual game performances, with cryptocurrency rewards for success. The platform has already achieved a staggering valuation of $4.3 billion during its last funding round with notable investors like SoftBank, Accel, and Benchmark. Currently, Sorare boasts a global user base of two million registered participants. over $150 million in annual revenue This game allows basketball enthusiasts to engage with the league in a unique manner, creating lists of NFTs that portray more than just players—they embody the spirit of the game itself. Participants earn points based on the actual performances of these athletes, and the game is open to anyone aged 18 and older at no cost.

Previously collaborating with Major League Baseball, Sorare is also gearing up to unveil a fantasy baseball game. In this game, players can win matches while trading and collecting NFTs, with tournament champions receiving valuable NFT card rewards. Sorare holds licensing agreements with over 280 soccer clubs globally, including those from Germany's Bundesliga, Italy's Serie A, and Spain's La Liga.
