Moreover, Shanghai's administration has expressed its readiness to consider partnership opportunities with Microsoft to explore frameworks for tech governance and standards.

Currently, Microsoft provides more than twenty AI products Operating within the People’s Republic of China, Microsoft also endorses the growth of AI-driven software and applications at various research centers. Additionally, thousands of Chinese professionals are involved in these efforts. This dedication from Microsoft plays a crucial role in enhancing China's capabilities in AI.

In 2014, Microsoft marked a milestone by being the first foreign entity to deliver public cloud computing solutions within the Chinese marketplace. Earlier this year, they declared intentions to integrate OpenAI into their assortment of cloud services aimed at this region.

Shanghai Accelerates Focus on AI

Recently, Shanghai has amplified its focus on fostering AI development, witnessing remarkable advancements across its AI sector. The cumulative value generated by AI enterprises in the city exceeded $42.73 billion in 2021.

In addition, Shanghai has strategically pinpointed AI as one of its three pivotal industries for sustained growth, side by side with integrated circuits and biomedicine.
