The Latin American division of Samsung has launched its own virtual space Located in Decentraland, 'House of SAM' serves as Samsung's digital expert and is the focal point for the SmartThings experience.
At 'House of SAM,' users can engage virtually with an array of Samsung products, including the Freestyle portable projector. Additionally, a selection of mini-games is offered, allowing players to earn unique wearables for their avatars in Decentraland.
On October 1, Samsung officially launched 'House of SAM' within the Decentraland metaverse, and the opening event was highlighted by an exclusive online performance from the Brazilian band Melim.
'Our customers will have the opportunity to engage with one another and take part in unique shows, workshops, and events that we’ll be providing at no cost in Decentraland, which is known as a highly inclusive space in the metaverse,' stated Arthur Wong, the marketing director for Samsung LATAM.
Wong further emphasized that the initiative aims to connect with younger consumers of Samsung who often see no clear line between the digital and physical worlds.
Based in South Korea, Samsung is recognized as a forward-thinking technology leader that has already made a notable entrance into the Web3 space. Through 'House of SAM,' the company looks to elevate its brand visibility and captivate a fresh audience.
This recent venture into the metaverse isn't the first for Samsung. Earlier, in August, they introduced Smart City Island in the immensely popular Fortnite battle royale game. Additionally, in July, the company launched a new experience dubbed Space Tycoon.
Samsung has developed cryptocurrency wallets for its customers, facilitating NFT purchases through Samsung's Smart TVs. In January, they also established an official Samsung store within Decentraland, providing users with the option to buy goods using digital currencies in the virtual setting. In August, they kicked off an NFT campaign that included 100,000 utility NFTs aimed at Samsung’s customer base. on Roblox.
Samsung US has initiated a Discord community to strengthen its engagement in the Web3 landscape.
As for other Web3 partnerships, Samsung partnered with Theta Labs A partnership between Samsung and Theta Labs has resulted in the issuance of 100,000 utility NFTs.
