Ready Player Me is rolling out a beta version of its avatar creator for free, enabling users to design one-of-a-kind outfits with the help of the company’s DALL-E generative AI art tool. By inputting detailed text prompts, users can create tailored clothing options for their avatars. The company's ambitious vision is to become the leading source of digital avatars across the metaverse, having partnered with more than 6,000 applications and games already.

The company's recent initiative, Ready Player Me Labs, is designed to explore groundbreaking advancements in avatar personalization and functionalities prior to their release for the platform’s users and developers. Among the novel offerings now are AI-driven stylization options, gender-neutral body shapes, various body types, and age-specific presets.

The inaugural deployment from Labs is a preview version of the avatar creator that employs AI to customize wardrobe pieces, enabling sharing across different social media platforms. This development marks the first occasion on which users can tailor specific elements of outfits, fulfilling a top request from the community, as noted by the team on Twitter.

Last summer, Ready Player Me  completed a funding round of $56 million with Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) at the forefront of the funding. The platform plans to use these funds to facilitate the movement of player identities and digital assets to any virtual environment or 3D space. Currently, the total amount raised by the firm has reached $72.5 million. Recently, Ready Player Me  partnered with Calvin Klein  announced plans for a web3 fashion-themed game, dubbed 'Unleash Your Inner Explorer.'
