After the peaceful passing of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8 at the age of 96, while the UK prepares for her memorial service, opportunistic crypto enthusiasts are swiftly launching memecoins and questionable NFTs linked to her legacy. NFTs

Merely hours following Queen Elizabeth's death, at least 30 cryptocurrencies themed around her were reportedly created on either the Binance Smart Chain or the Ethereum network. Reddit post The names chosen for these tokens show a stark lack of creativity: you've got Queen Elizabeth II Inu, Queen Inu, Save the Queen, QueenDoge, London Bridge is Down, Rip Queen Elizabeth, Queen Grow, and God Save The Queen.

While it may sound astonishing, some of these tokens are experiencing significant price surges. For instance, the Save The Queen token saw an increase of 1106%, and Elizabeth Inu rose by 600%.

There's a mix of opinions within the community, with some users asserting that the world of crypto knows no limits, while others argue these trivial tokens are merely bot creations.

Sadly, the wave of creative yet distasteful memecoins isn't the only phenomenon surrounding the late Queen in the Web3 space; there are countless NFTs cropping up aimed at getting a quick profit. Trust me, the market is flooded with Queen Elizabeth NFTs.

Hours after her passing, an NFT collection known as 'RIP The Queen Official' hit OpenSea, showcasing heavily pixelated images of Queen Elizabeth, which managed to gather 1.4 ETH in trading volume. Additionally, a similar NFT endeavor, QueenE DAO, claims to 'pay homage' to her legacy, yet the creators insensitively note, \"Resting in Ethereum, forever.\"

It's no surprise that many are criticizing these NFT projects. Those with no legitimate connection to the Queen should not profit from her demise. Several NFT collections linked to her have been flagged, one of which is titled 'Queen Elizabeth 69 Years NFT.'

Hopefully, we won’t see any play-to-earn There are rumors of blockchain games themed around Queen Elizabeth that are set to launch this month; however, one can only speculate.
