The renowned sportswear brand Puma has allied with NBA star LaMelo Ball and the Gutter Cat Gang NFT project to deliver a limited-edition sneaker line.
Named 'GutterMelo MB.03,' these eye-catching sneakers will be priced at $175 and sold as non-fungible tokens on the OpenSea marketplace. The official launch is set for June 29, and holders will be able to claim their physical sneakers from July 18 until August 20. Gutter Cat Gang features a unique NFT profile picture initiative that showcases 3,000 distinctive cat avatars. The new Puma design incorporates a vibrant heat map aesthetic, embellished with Gutter Cat Gang motifs and '1-of-1' engravings on the shoe's tongue. The heel of the sneakers proudly displays the names of the artwork contributors.
LaMelo Ball is well-versed in the NFT space; he launched his own collectible line, LaMelo Collectibles, on the Ethereum blockchain back in June 2021. This collection features celestial figures of Ball himself floating among the stars, and owning these tokens grants various perks to collectors. His second series hit the market in February 2022.
In a preview of what's to come, Puma plans to roll out its web3 project named 'Black Station.' This ambitious digital landscape will unveil a mesmerizing city in the sky referred to as Unkai, with its launch scheduled for June 13.
