The Cardano Summit 2023 kicked off on November 2 with its first session day, hosting participants from around the globe, both in person and online. The inaugural day featured over 55 industry speakers and more than 35 sessions, focusing on themes such as operational resilience and education.

These initiatives aim to enhance blockchain adoption in hopes of improving the quality of life across the country.
Building on this vision, 2022 is expected to be a pivotal year for the UAE as it seeks to promote diverse applications of blockchain while educating the public on its benefits. Alzarouni is anticipated to contribute his insights and expertise to further this initiative.
In 2022, Alzarouni is likely to push for greater blockchain adoption and the establishment of a robust ecosystem in the country by participating in more industry events and connecting with key players. He is slated to speak at significant blockchain gatherings, including the Global Blockchain Congress in February and the Cybertech Global UAE-Dubai conference in June.
Hex Trust, a prominent institutional crypto custodian, has secured a complete operational license from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), representing the final step in its regulatory approval process. The firm aims to broaden its footprint globally, including expanding operations in the Middle East.
Crypto.com’s Dubai branch has recently received a Virtual Assets Service Provider (VASP) license from VARA, enabling it to offer exchange, broker-dealer, and lending services tailored for both retail and institutional investors. Dubai’s regulatory framework has become increasingly appealing to crypto businesses, with the Middle East emerging as the region experiencing the fastest growth in cryptocurrency activity.
