Nevertheless, he plans to remain as a key member of the team, directly reporting to the CEO. Moments after that announcement, he shared his resignation from the company on social media.

Following this upheaval, Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella announced on November 20, 2023, that both Brockman and former OpenAI leader Sam Altman would be joining Microsoft to spearhead a new advanced AI research division. After an agreement was reached to reinstate Altman as CEO, Brockman returned to OpenAI the next day.

A leak from 4chan, alleged to be connected to OpenAI's Q-Star project, has sparked concerns regarding a potential shift in encryption technology.
