OpenSea has officially integrated support for NFTs associated with the Optimism layer-2 network on Ethereum.
In Brief
Following the integration of the Arbitrum One scaling solution just last week, OpenSea has now brought Optimism into its fold, continuing its support for innovative Ethereum solutions.
Currently, the top collection of NFTs on OpenSea's Optimism side is named Early Optimists.
The value of the Optimism (OP) token has dipped by 7.5%, currently trading at around $0.88.

As the leading NFT marketplace, OpenSea has announced the inclusion of the Optimism layer-2 solution. Previously, many Optimism NFTs were primarily traded in the Quix marketplace tailored for that network.
Optimism serves as a robust, speedy, and dependable layer-2 network designed as an enhancement to the existing Ethereum blockchain. Its mission is to foster a framework that encourages the growth and longevity of public goods.
Last week, the marketplace OpenSea has integrated the Arbitrum One solution, which is yet another Ethereum scaling framework. In total, OpenSea now supports six different blockchains: Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Klaytn, and with the recent additions, Arbitrum and Optimism. It has been less than a day since NFTs from Optimism made their debut on OpenSea. The leading collection, Early Optimists, has seen 8 ETH in trading volume within 24 hours. Following closely are the Optimism Quests and OP Delegatooors, bringing in 6 ETH each. Additional collections included are Apetimism, Bored Town, Optichads, and MotorHeadz.
"Having the top NFT marketplace on Optimism is a game-changer for creators, collectors, and NFT enthusiasts alike. This latest development is thrilling for the Arts District within the City of Optimism,\" stated a representative.
The Optimism team expressed that the most rewarding aspect of this partnership is that OpenSea's activities on the Optimism network contribute to a sustainably bright future for Ethereum.
Optimism wrote on Twitter.
Over the last day, the value of the blockchain's native Optimism (OP) token decreased by 7.5%, and it is now trading at approximately $0.88.
In other updates, OpenSea is focusing on enhancing marketplace security. Recently, the company granted hefty bounty rewards to two ethical hackers who identified significant security flaws in OpenSea, each receiving $100,000.
Speculation regarding a hack on Optimism has resulted in a 9% drop in the value of its native token after a period of consistent growth. The CEO of Xbox remarked that while the concept of the metaverse has existed for three decades, he remains cautious regarding play-to-earn models. To enhance user experiences, OpenSea has acquired the NFT aggregator Gem.
