OKX Wallet Enhances Features with Bitcoin Ordinals Viewing and Transfer Capabilities
In Brief
The OKX platform has rolled out the option to view and transfer Bitcoin Ordinals directly through its wallet and NFT marketplace.
Recent updates to the OKX Wallet have introduced support for BTC taproot addresses within the browser extension.

In its latest upgrade, OKX has enabled users to explore and transfer Bitcoin Ordinals through its wallet and NFT platform. The wallet now accommodates BTC taproot addresses via the browser extension, with mobile device compatibility anticipated shortly.
This enhancement allows OKX users to import their BTC wallets and manage their Bitcoin Ordinals via the platform's multi-chain wallet, creating a more convenient solution for individuals holding these digital assets.
"We’ve been closely monitoring the surge of activity surrounding Bitcoin Ordinals, and we’re thrilled to provide users with a smooth experience to view and engage with their NFTs across various chains. Moreover, integrating support for BTC Taproot addresses will facilitate more affordable and compatible transactions for users of the OKX Wallet. We're eager to witness the evolution of the Bitcoin ecosystem and look forward to rolling out even more features in the future," stated Jason Lau, Chief Innovation Officer at OKX.
This update comes in the wake of the Bitcoin Punks NFTs launch on the OKX NFT Marketplace back on March 7, which enabled users to purchase ordinals using ETH. Soon, the OKX NFT Marketplace will roll out functionalities for minting and trading ordinals, allowing users to create, buy, and sell their Ordinals seamlessly on the platform.
Joining forces with platforms like Ordinals Wallet, Xverse, and Hiro, along with various marketplaces, Magic Eden and Gamma.io OKX is positioning itself to serve the expanding Bitcoin Ordinals community, which has been grappling with trust issues due to the absence of a reliable infrastructure for buying, selling, viewing, and trading their inscriptions.
Before the advent of these wallets and marketplaces, individuals had to craft an ord-compatible wallet using Sparrow and oversee the management of their Ordinals themselves, while Ordinal transactions typically took place through over-the-counter deals.
