The ambitious vision of NVIDIA's CEO Jensen Huang is to infuse AI into every sector.
In Brief
With a captivating intro titled 'I Am AI,' Huang initiated his keynote at GTC 2023.
NVIDIA plans to enable businesses to utilize its advanced AI supercomputing platform, DGX Cloud.
The company has entered a collaboration with Shutterstock to develop tailored 3D models that can generate 3D assets from basic text commands.

At the GPU Technology Conference (GTC) 2023, Jensen Huang, the CEO of NVIDIA, captivated his audience with a keynote titled 'I AM AI,' which highlighted groundbreaking advancements in artificial intelligence. His presentation emphasized new AI products and partnerships designed to enhance accessibility to this innovative technology.
'AI is the driving engine of accelerated computing,' Huang stated during his keynote. 'The remarkable capabilities of generative AI compel businesses to rethink their offerings and strategies.'
In his keynote, Huang highlighted examples of state-of-the-art AI solutions provided by NVIDIA and its associates. He noted that NVIDIA and Microsoft will connect a vast number of Microsoft 365 and Azure users to a platform designed for creating and managing hyperrealistic virtual environments. He also shared insights about how Amazon is leveraging sophisticated simulation technologies to train new automated warehouse robots.
Huang reminisced about NVIDIA's pivotal role in launching the generative AI movement. In 2016, he personally delivered the first NVIDIA DGX AI supercomputer to OpenAI, the groundbreaking engine behind the large language model that powers ChatGPT. As UBS analyst Timothy Arcuri pointed out, ChatGPT utilized an impressive 10,000 Nvidia GPUs for its training.
In light of the ChatGPT phenomenon, Huang remarked:
“We are at the iPhone moment of AI.”
NVIDIA is now focused on providing businesses with access to its AI supercomputing service, DGX Cloud, aiming to bring artificial intelligence to every sector. The technology firm has designated Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) as the inaugural hyper-scale cloud provider to offer this innovative service.
Microsoft Azure is anticipated to start hosting DGX Cloud in the upcoming quarter, with plans to extend the service to Google Cloud soon. This will allow users from these tech giants to conveniently access the supercomputer via their web browsers. Furthermore, NVIDIA is operating NVIDIA AI Foundations, a new suite of generative AI cloud services available through DGX Cloud on OCI.
In addition, Shutterstock recently announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to create custom 3D models capable of generating 3D assets from simple text inputs via NVIDIA AI Foundations services, which encompass language, images, video, and 3D content. This partnership will harness Shutterstock's assets and NVIDIA's Picasso generative AI cloud services to transform text into high-quality 3D visuals.
The newly developed generative AI functionalities powered by NVIDIA will enhance Shutterstock’s Creative Flow. Features that convert text to 3D will also be available on Turbosquid.com and are set to debut on the NVIDIA Omniverse platform, which is used for constructing and managing 3D industrial metaverse applications.
Companies like Getty Images, Morningstar, and Quantiphi are among those that will be developing and utilizing AI models, applications, and services based on the new NVIDIA AI Foundations offerings.
