This game adopts manager-oriented gameplay where participants act as general managers, assembling their teams using NFTs that embody real NFL players. According to Jamie Jackson, the chief creative officer at Mythical Games, \"NFTs with functionality can significantly enhance the gameplay experience, and we are eager to integrate such concepts into NFL Rivals, thereby transforming team management by introducing play-and-own mechanics and providing fans with novel avenues to connect with their favorite teams and players, both within and outside this digital realm.\" said Players will be able to enjoy the game on both desktop and mobile platforms, including a dedicated feature.

Mythical Games has achieved remarkable success in the play-to-earn sector, particularly in 2021. The talented development team at Mythical is composed of seasoned creators behind popular franchises like Call of Duty and World of Warcraft, among others. Their standout title to date is Blankos Block Party, which debuted in June 2021. In November, they successfully raised $150 million in a Series C funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), bringing their valuation to a notable $1.25 billion.
