Metaverse Fashion Week 2022: Tommy Hilfiger Unveils Digital Spring Collection

As the first-ever Metaverse Fashion Week draws near, the virtual space of Decentraland will serve as a canvas where leading fashion designers and brands will reveal their cutting-edge collections, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of the fashion industry.

Scheduled for March 24-28, MVFW is poised to offer an immersive shopping experience, allowing attendees to acquire digital fashion items within Decentraland while also having the chance to receive physical counterparts for actual use. Over four days, more than 55 renowned brands—including Roberto Cavalli, Paco Rabanne, Dolce & Gabbana, Selfridges, and Tommy Hilfiger—will participate in this spectacular event.

Tommy Hilfiger's Spring Collection 2022 will display the designer's intricately created NFTs, influenced by advancements in digital technology. Additionally, the brand will present a virtual shopping platform in collaboration with Boson Protocol, a decentralized commerce network that facilitates simple exchanges between digital goods and physical commodities.

The flagship store of this high-end fashion label will be located in the Boson Portal within Decentraland's Fashion District, an area designed to mimic Paris's chic Avenue Montaigne. Visitors to Fashion Week will have the chance to explore stunning 3D representations of Tommy Hilfiger's iconic American styles, featuring items such as the men's varsity jacket, the women's madras shirt, and the unisex hoodie adorned with the recognizable Tommy Hilfiger logo. The brand will also offer redeemable NFTs that can be traded for physical products shipped directly to customers.

Reflecting on the inception of his eponymous brand in 1985, Tommy Hilfiger remarked, \"I could have never envisioned a day when fashion weeks would shift to a fully immersive 3D virtual environment. As we venture deeper into the metaverse, I'm continually inspired by the potential of digital technology to cultivate engaging interactions within various communities.\" said Tommy Hilfiger.

This virtual fashion affair underscores Tommy Hilfiger's dedication to innovative approaches in fashion, as the brand consistently seeks to create immersive experiences that connect fans in both physical and digital spheres. Not too long ago, in December, the clothing brand teamed up with the Roblox community to develop a digital wardrobe for avatars to showcase on the gaming platform.
