Meta will add NFTs to Instagram

Meta has confirmed that it will bring NFT support to Instagram very shortly.
This platform will specifically support NFTs that are based on the Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, and Flow blockchains.
Interestingly, Meta has no intention of charging users for sharing their digital artwork. Back in January 2022, Twitter rolled out a feature permitting users to showcase their NFTs as profile icons, although this was limited to subscribers of Twitter Blue at a monthly fee of $2.99.
Initially, users in the United States will get to try out this feature on Instagram, with updates about its availability in other regions likely to follow soon after. To display an NFT, users will need to link their crypto wallets to their Instagram accounts, which will help verify their ownership of these unique tokens.
Users will also have the option to tag the original creator of the NFT on Instagram.
Looking ahead, Meta has ambitions to introduce minting capabilities directly on the platform and might create exclusive group membership features connected to NFTs.
