In an exciting announcement, Louis Vuitton is preparing to roll out its first collection of phygital NFTs, with each token and trunk combination priced at €39,000.

In Brief

Louis Vuitton is on the brink of launching its first phygital NFT collection named 'Via.'

The price tag for one of the tokens, paired with a physical trunk, will be €39,000.

To get in on this exclusive collection, potential buyers are required to register through a specialized website and submit their personal details.

As part of its launch, Louis Vuitton will debut 'Via,' a unique phygital NFT series that includes stunning physical 'Treasure Trunks' alongside corresponding digital assets. Only a limited number of trunks will be up for grabs, each priced at €39,000.

Louis Vuitton's upcoming release of phygital NFTs will each cost €39,000.

To secure one of these coveted trunks and tokens, customers must join the waiting list starting June 8. The dedicated site will request them to connect their cryptocurrency wallets and provide essential personal information like their name, country, and wallet ID. This approach means Louis Vuitton can link personal data with wallet addresses, which isn't favored in the crypto space that values privacy.

The brand will disclose more details regarding the drop to select individuals on June 14. Then, on June 16, those who registered will have the chance to purchase trunks using either cryptocurrency or regular currency.

Holders of these NFTs will gain access to forthcoming products. For example, they will have the opportunity to buy 'keys' that unlock exclusive items, with the first available in mid-June. Additionally, Louis Vuitton will create opportunities for community participants to join in various exclusive experiences.

It's worth noting that these tokens are soul-bound, which means their holders can't transfer or sell them. This strategy reinforces the brand's commitment to exclusivity and the idea of a 'closed community.'

Originally, Louis Vuitton gained immense popularity as a luxury label due to its high-end travel trunks, which date back to the 19th century. The impending NFT collection will enable true aficionados of the brand to engage with its storied legacy in a fresh and innovative way.

In August 2021, Louis Vuitton launched an NFT-based free-to-play game called 'Louis: the Game.' This game celebrated the 200th anniversary of LV's founding and educated players on its illustrious history. Players had the opportunity to collect one of 30 exclusive non-fungible tokens while immersing themselves in LV's legacy interactively.
