In a groundbreaking collaboration, Maybelline New York and L’Oréal Professionnel have teamed up with Ready Player Me to deliver a selection of hair and makeup styles for the metaverse.
Gamers now have the opportunity to personalize their avatars with ten distinct looks from Maybelline and L’Oréal, designed by the talented CGI artist Yvan Rochette. Ready Player Me is offering five makeup options and five hairstyling solutions tailored for avatars that will work seamlessly across a vast network of over 3,000 metaverse platforms.
Rather than focusing on realism, L’Oréal Paris aimed to develop vibrant, imaginative looks that draw inspiration from gaming environments and virtual realms.
"Our goal was never to replicate real-life appearances; we wanted to stretch the limits of creativity and deliver styles that users couldn't achieve in the physical world,\" explains Camille Kroely, L’Oréal's chief metaverse and Web3 officer.
Interestingly, this isn't L’Oréal's initial foray into Web3. Back in October, they launched a

metaverse startup accelerator in collaboration with Meta and HEC Paris, which is set to unfold over six months at Meta's Station F in Paris, concentrating on avatar creation, virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality, user experiences, and 3D production. announced the launch Additionally, Maybelline New York has explored the metaverse previously by creating a stunning virtual loft that provides immersive experiences while showcasing their cosmetic offerings.
