In Brief
The mobile service provider LG Uplus Corp., which falls under the LG Corporation umbrella, is gearing up to launch Meta Slap, a virtual shop dedicated to digital fashion.
For this exciting project, the company has teamed up with Ation Fashion and Z-Emotion.
LG Uplus Corp., a South Korean mobile network provider, is embarking on an innovative endeavor in metaverse retail. Their mission is to pioneer commerce within the fashion sector of the metaverse, commencing this journey with the introduction of Meta Slap—a dedicated online clothing store. This platform is designed to cater specifically to the needs of the modern office worker. reportedly Ation Fashion, known for its Polham casual apparel brand, and Z-Emotion, which specializes in 3D costume design software, have partnered with LG Uplus on this venture. Notably, Z-Emotion unveiled a groundbreaking software earlier this year that enables the creation of metaverse-ready outfits.

On July 9, the three companies formalized their collaboration by signing a memorandum of understanding. They'll kick off the Meta Slap boutique this month, which aims to bridge the gap between physical and virtual fashion experience. The store will showcase a variety of clothing and accessories tailored for the metaverse.
One exciting aspect of this online boutique is that it will also offer links to physical products, allowing users to buy real-world items right from the metaverse interface. Additionally, LG Uplus Corp. and its partners plan to introduce an AI-driven fitting room to enhance the shopping experience.
A spokesperson for LG Uplus Corp. noted, 'According to Roblox's metaverse platform, 50% of its users enjoy dressing up their avatars on a weekly basis, indicating a significant market opportunity.'
Interestingly, they are not the first to delve into this innovative space. Earlier this year, the renowned German luxury brand Hugo Boss launched a metaverse store on the Spatial platform, which featured five exclusive pieces from their real-life collection, enabling customers to purchase them effortlessly through direct links to the brand's website.
