Lamborghini's Upcoming Auction Features a Supercar NFT
The Italian manufacturer of luxury sports cars has announced This auction highlights a supercar represented as a one-of-a-kind NFT, featuring the Last Aventador Coupé, a model that has never been made.
As noted by Krista Kim, editor for Vogue Singapore's Metaverse section, Lamborghini is set to be the trailblazer with this supercar NFT. She emphasized the importance of the vehicle's aesthetics during development, collaborating with renowned DJ and producer Steve Aoki to bring this stunning creation to life. Together, they chose a mesmerizing blend of blue and black, designed to evoke the feeling of racing through the Metaverse while chasing a Martian sunset. Drawing inspiration from this color scheme, Aoki produced music to accompany the vehicle's unveiling. music tracks that would make part of the NFT.
Sotheby’s will host the auction starting on April 19, 2022. The winning bidder will receive both the final Aventador Coupé ever built and its corresponding 1:1 NFT. While there isn't a preliminary sales estimate yet, it's expected that this historically significant vehicle will fetch a price considerably higher than that of the original model.
