La Liga joins forces with TVM to develop a groundbreaking Metaverse soccer experience

La Liga, Spain's leading soccer league, has sealed a two-and-a-half-year partnership with TVM, a sports Metaverse platform based in South Korea. TVM will take on the role of the official Metaverse sponsor for the league, striving to construct an 'exclusive virtual ecosystem' that places fan engagement center stage.
This partnership grants TVM the rights to incorporate La Liga’s branding and merchandise within the ‘Triverse’—an immersive Metaverse experience currently under construction by TVM. In the Triverse, La Liga will showcase a specially designed environment where fans can access official content like team updates, player interviews, and thrilling match highlights presented in augmented reality.
Jorge de la Vega, La Liga’s marketing director, stated, “We are constantly in search of innovative approaches to present our top-tier offerings to fans around the world, and this requires the best partners. Our agreement with TVM exemplifies this strategy and opens the door to an ecosystem with exceptional potential, particularly in the realm of the Metaverse.” said Jorge de la Vega, marketing director of La Liga.
Within the Triverse, fans will have the opportunity to create their own 'fan cities' using NFTs. This vibrant setting will allow fans to interact with one another while accumulating rewards and points that can be redeemed for exclusive items. Additionally, the platform will function as a promotional and advertising space for La Liga’s commercial affiliates.
Josh Kim, CEO of TBM, explained, “The reward mechanics will center around NFTs, as the integration of blockchain and NFTs is fundamental. Consequently, we are poised to introduce our own trading platform for NFTs. Fans will identify with specific sports entities and invest time and effort to expand their fan city.”
This is not TVM's inaugural collaboration with a sports organization; their portfolio also includes partnerships with MotoGP promoter Dorna Sports, the Belgian soccer Pro League, and the Royal Belgian Football Association.
It appears that La Liga is fully embracing the realms of NFTs and the Metaverse. Just last week, they initiated an NFT collaboration with the fantasy football platform Sorare to launch a collection featuring every player in the league.
