In the heart of Bangkok's shopping scene, the renowned Japanese firm Minto has set up a collectible store called 'Oh My Pop! (OMP)' at the well-frequented Siam Center, aiming to engage fans of Japanese culture.

In Brief

In the bustling Siam Center of Bangkok, Minto has unveiled a collectible store that promises an immersive shopping experience for enthusiasts.

Customers visiting the store can personalize their own avatars, utilizing a diverse array of characters created by over 100 talented artists from Japan and beyond.

Minto Co., Ltd., based in Tokyo, has introduced the 'Oh My Pop! (OMP)' collectible store, which has been developed by its Thai office and is located in the vibrant Siam Center shopping district.

Siam Center, known for its diverse fashion offerings, has always been a hotspot for the trendy youth of Thailand, making it an ideal location for the newly opened OMP store where visitors can craft their own unique avatars in collaboration with international creators.

This store empowers customers to personalize their own merchandise through interactive touchscreen machines, allowing them to arrange characters freely and print them onto various physical items.

At the core of 'Oh My Pop! (OMP)' is a wide selection of characters and merchandise, with the standout character 'Usagiyun!' being a favorite among Minto's loyal following.

Founded just a year ago, Minto is a production company committed to innovating in the manga and anime sectors. Its ambition is to create a new ecosystem of content supported by four main branches operating in Japan, China, Thailand, and Vietnam, which include social media content initiatives, character collaborations, Webtoon IP development, and explorations into Web3 technologies.

The main goals of this initiative include sharing knowledge and information predominantly aimed at enthusiasts of Web3. Notably, Minto launched a blockchain-based game called CryptoCrystal in 2018, which saw 10,000 NFTs trade for market values exceeding 500 million yen (approximately $3.49 million) by December 2021 according to their official site.

Minto also introduced Minto Land in The Sandbox, with a rapid sellout of NFTs during the land's opening sale, achieving over 200 million yen (about $1.39 million) in sales within just four minutes. This was followed by the creation of the first metaverse adaptation and NFT for the popular manga series 'Captain Tsubasa.'

With the debut of OMP in Bangkok, Minto is showcasing its marketing expertise in creator IP, a fundamental aspect of its content solutions strategy. This move has the potential to transform Thailand's collectibles market by fostering a closer connection between creators, characters, and the public.
