India now has its first-ever domestically developed AI SuperCloud, thanks to NeevCloud's latest launch.

In Brief

In a significant move, Indian cloud tech firm NeevCloud has rolled out its groundbreaking AI SuperCloud, which is set to bolster the country's independence in AI and supercomputing capabilities.

The firm specializing in cloud infrastructure solutions from India, NeevCloud has unveiled the nation’s first AI SuperCloud with ambitions to promote self-reliance in AI and high-performance computing. This platform is designed to assist users in tackling some of the core challenges faced within the country, featuring AI cloud infrastructure that includes 40,000 GPUs and an investment of $1.5 billion to be realized by the year 2026.

"At NeevCloud, we envision a future where India is not just a participant but a leader in global technology innovation. Our mission is to make AI cloud computing accessible and democratized for enterprises and startups throughout India, nurturing the development of homegrown AI solutions,\" expressed Narendra Sen, the founder and CEO of NeevCloud.

According to India’s Ministry of Information and Technology, the AI sector is projected to add a staggering USD 967 billion to the economy by the year 2035 and between $450-500 billion by 2025, which would account for 10% of the ambitious goal of achieving a $5 trillion GDP by 2027. It is anticipated that the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) will be the key players driving this economic growth, despite facing challenges such as affordability, billing transparency, and the need for personalized assistance, the report elaborated.

"Our AI SuperCloud symbolizes the spirit of Indian innovation, and we believe our journey can empower not just our country but also global users in search of affordable yet advanced cloud solutions for their AI and machine learning demands. Our vision is to create a next-generation cloud infrastructure infrastructure that propels India towards its goal of becoming a $5 trillion economy,\" Sen added.

NeevCloud aims to tackle these challenges head-on and make AI and supercomputing accessible to businesses of all sizes. They have launched the ‘AI Supercomputing as a Service’ model, boasting the world’s lowest rates for Cloud GPUs at just $1.69 per hour, offering potential cost reductions of about 50%.

This initiative is designed to empower businesses to harness the power of generative AI and utilize large language models (LLMs) across a variety of applications.

Addressing High Energy Consumption in Data Centers

According to the company, existing data center Current infrastructures struggle to manage the demanding workloads of AI, ML, and high-performance computing projects, often consuming an astonishing 80KwH of power compared to just 10-20KwH for standard workloads.

The energy-intensive nature of these environments results in excessive heat production, which leads to operational challenges and inflated operational expenses.

To counter these issues, NeevCloud has developed a proprietary solution: Varuna, a liquid immersion cooling system that effectively addresses the challenges of high rack density heat by submerging servers in a cooling fluid, significantly improving Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) from 1.5 down to 1.05, thereby achieving sustainability.

This approach not only alleviates heat concerns but also creates a ripple effect, slashing cooling costs by 90% and overall expenses by half, according to NeevCloud.

It further empowers NeevCloud to specifically cater to the unique demands of various sectors such as banking, automotive, and healthcare by establishing specialized SuperClusters. This exclusive machine learning approach supports organizations of all sizes and research facilities in advancing their AI initiatives, emphasizing accessibility, environmental responsibility, support, autonomy, and innovation in cloud and AI solutions for the Indian market.

The firm plans to set up data centers in strategic locations across India, including major cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Noida, with the ambitious goal of achieving 100% clean energy in all facilities.

NeevCloud claims its AI SuperCloud will deliver results at ten times the speed, accompanied by a 50% reduction in costs, which is currently the most competitive globally for Cloud GPUs.
