IBM Unveils AI-Driven Threat Detection and Response Solutions to Strengthen Cybersecurity
In Brief
IBM has rolled out cutting-edge Threat Detection and Response Services (TDR) that utilize AI to automate a staggering 85% of security alerts.
These services provide round-the-clock monitoring, thorough investigative processes, and automated solutions across hybrid cloud systems, significantly improving the cybersecurity response to dynamic threats.

IBM, a prominent multinational technology corporation, today unveiled has launched its upgraded Threat Detection and Response Services (TDR), which leverage AI to automatically handle 85% of security alerts. The services offer all-day, every-day monitoring, detailed investigations, and automated solutions across diverse tech environments, including hybrid cloud setups, to boost response capabilities against new cyber threats.
In addition, IBM Consulting’s global security analysts will deliver these services via IBM’s advanced security operations platform. This platform takes advantage of multiple AI layers and uses contextual threat intelligence sourced from IBM’s vast international security network.
IBM has pointed out that organizations today are contending not only with a flood of attackers but also with a growing number of vulnerabilities, alerts, and security solutions.
"By merging cutting-edge analytics and instantaneous threat intelligence with human skills, IBM’s latest Threat Detection and Response Services can significantly enhance an organization’s cyber defenses, delivering scalable, continuously evolving solutions robust enough to face future threats,\" said Chris McCurdy, General Manager of Worldwide IBM Consulting Cybersecurity Services.
IBM’s TDR Services feature AI-enhanced security technologies that consistently learn from actual client data, enabling the automatic handling of low-priority and false positive alerts while swiftly prioritizing high-risk alerts that require urgent attention.
Leveraging AI for Threat Detection
Moreover, the services will include crowdsourced detection protocols, refined alert systems, an assessment based on the MITRE ATT&CK framework, and seamless integration with current security measures, along with 24/7 global support from IBM’s extensive cybersecurity workforce.
IBM’s TDR Services also aim to assist organizations in tackling workforce shortages, growing cyber threats, and the need for more sophisticated cybersecurity programs, all without necessitating a comprehensive overhaul of previous security investments. This initiative provides a pathway for organizations to transition to a more proactive security posture.
Additionally, IBM looks to ensure the continual improvement of security operations and offer access to its X-Force Incident Response Services. Clients will have the option to integrate further proactive security strategies, such as penetration tests, adversary simulations, or vulnerability management, according to their needs.
IBM is also collaborating with Microsoft to amplify the adoption of generative AI solutions tailored for enterprise clients. The company has introduced a new offering to help clients refine their business operations and expand their generative AI capabilities. IBM Consulting, in partnership with Microsoft, is assisting clients in deploying Azure OpenAI Service via the IBM Consulting Azure OpenAI Service solution.
