Here’s a breakdown of the events at ETH Barcelona.

The pioneering Ethereum conference in Barcelona was held over three days from July 6 to 8. Attendees participated in a variety of organized discussions and workshops. Moreover, the event also included networking opportunities, art installations, musical acts, and a special area designed for relaxation and meditation.

The theme of the event was inspired by the SolarPunk movement—a pioneering artistic approach that confronts the effects of climate change while envisioning a revivified, sustainable environment. The International Barcelona Convention Center (CCIB) was adorned with greenery, floral arrangements, and turf, highlighting how blockchain could contribute to a more sustainable future.

Prominent speakers at the conference included James Beck from ConsenSys (MetaMask), Simona Pop representing Gitcoin and Status.im, co-founder of Gitcoin Scott More, Alona Shevchenko from UkraineDAO, Evin McMullen, CEO of Disco.xyz, and Griff Green who co-founded Giveth, Commons Stack, and DAppNode, among others.

One of the standout features of the event was the art displays that exhibited digital artistry and NFTs, treating them with the reverence of classic gallery pieces. Additionally, many of these NFTs were available on the DoinGud NFT platform.

Curated by ONBD Art and Cripto es Cultura The captivating 'Wonder Through the AR Lens' exhibition was designed to ignite curiosity and exploration through art that reflects both current realities and future possibilities. Blank screens beckoned attendees to engage with tablets to uncover art that transcends ordinary perception, crafting new realms of experience.

Decentralized Science Exhibition

The DeSci series of five NFTs fused artistic expression with scientific inquiry, whereby artists collaborated with scientists to produce innovative pieces. This exhibit aimed to challenge Web3 technologies to transform how scientific research is financed, disseminated, and monetized.

Displayed here is 'Synthesizing in Progress,' where artist Sophia Kay represented the research of scientist Yuanning Feng who is pioneering novel molecular processing techniques for polymers, potentially reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

Envision The Future

The gallery's goal was to illustrate the versatility of NFTs across creative platforms—be it art, design, fashion, or more—emphasizing that NFTs are significantly impacting the ongoing narrative of modern culture with a focus on 'the cyber implicit.' Dana Dimitras contributed insights to this theme. Visual Atelier B curated the event.

Spain's inaugural Ethereum conference demonstrated that Web3 can indeed cultivate social good, bringing together crypto aficionados in a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere.

According to Micaela Ruiz, a member of the ETHBarcelona Core Team, community gatherings like these create a unique synergy that brings people and projects into a creative alchemy.

As stated, 'Barcelona embodies the intersection of web3, art, and social impact with its multicultural fabric, welcoming individuals from across the globe, making it an ideal venue for both English and Spanish-speaking blockchain advocates. We are dedicated to ensuring that ETHBarcelona is a diverse, solution-driven, and inviting environment for everyone, whether seasoned crypto enthusiasts or curious newcomers.'
