Google Cloud Partners with Polygon Labs for Advanced Enterprise Infrastructure and Developer Tools

In Brief

Google Cloud has forged a multiyear agreement with Polygon to foster the widespread use of essential Polygon protocols.

Polygon plans to leverage Google Cloud’s extensive infrastructure and robust developer tools to enhance its Web3 product offerings.

In their partnership, Google Cloud will deliver both infrastructure and developer tools, which will empower developers to create decentralized applications (dApps) using Polygon protocols like Polygon PoS, Polygon Supernets, and Polygon zkEVM.

To streamline the operation of blockchain nodes and mitigate costs, Google Cloud is introducing its Blockchain Node Engine, a fully managed node hosting service, which will now be part of the Polygon environment. This enables developers to set up Polygon PoS nodes without the hassle of managing their own infrastructure.

Previously, developers utilized the Google Cloud Marketplace to effortlessly deploy a Polygon PoS node for their dApps with a single click. Back in 2021, Google Cloud added the Polygon blockchain dataset to its Public Dataset Program, allowing developers to pair it with BigQuery, Google Cloud’s serverless data warehousing solution, for real-time on-chain and cross-chain analytical capabilities.

Polygon Supernets act like a specialized app chain, allowing enterprises and developers to tailor and extend blockchain space according to specific requirements. Polygon Labs announced that by the close of Q3 this year, developers will benefit from one-click deployment of DevNets on Google Cloud, enabling them to quickly set up a network of three to five nodes with a simulated bridge in their virtual private cloud (VPC) to assess if Supernets are a fit for their project.

Last month, Polygon zkEVM, which is positioned as a scaling solution that mimics Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), entered its mainnet beta phase. This initiative will utilize Google Cloud’s resources to propel its zero-knowledge strategy. Initial trials running zero-knowledge proofs for Polygon zkEVM on Google Cloud demonstrated notably faster and more economical transactions compared to existing frameworks.

Ryan Wyatt, President of Polygon Labs, shared that the latest partnership with Google Cloud is designed to boost transaction capabilities, fostering applications in gaming, supply chain logistics, and DeFi. This collaboration is expected to encourage more businesses to adopt blockchain technology through Polygon. press release Following Google Cloud's announcement regarding its web3 startup initiative earlier this week, this partnership takes shape. As part of this program, Polygon is set to provide verified startups with funding opportunities totaling up to $3 million from the Polygon Ventures Ecosystem Fund.

As the September 15 Ethereum Merge approaches, anticipation and apprehensions increase.
