Actor Jim Carrey has recently bought This marks his first NFT purchase, making him the newest celebrity to support digital artwork.

Carrey made a successful bid for the NFT titled 'Devotion' from The Wild Within collection, crafted by Ryan Koopmans and Alice Wexell. He managed to outbid others and ultimately invested 20.0Ξ, which is around $39,535, to snag his initial token on the platform known as Superrare.

Carrey's artwork showcases a dilapidated sanatorium located in Tskaltubo, Georgia. Once thriving from the 1940s until the 1980s, this place fell into decay following the disintegration of the USSR.

Koopmans took the original photographs, which he later altered collaboratively with Wexell to incorporate elements of nature and life, while Erik Thome added sound to the pieces.

The artists aimed to animate these scenes with the purpose of revitalizing empty environments, effectively rekindling life within those rooms. According to the description on Superrare, the outcome is a surreal interplay between the past and the future, merging the physical and digital realms.
