EVM-based blockchain Ronin The metaverse game development team at Bisonic, alongside the creative minds at Magic Machine, has decided to switch their blockchain title from Arbitrum to Ronin, allowing for the integration of the Forgotten Runes Wizard’s Cult IP. Forgotten Runiverse Ronin, crafted by Sky Mavis, is a blockchain compatible with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), specifically designed for gaming scenarios. It boasts rapid transaction speeds and minimal fees, making it an excellent choice for managing large in-game transactions. Notably, Ronin is the only blockchain that has successfully scaled a single game to accommodate millions of active users daily, processing over $4 billion in non-fungible token (NFT) transactions.

According to Trung Nguyen, CEO and Co-Founder of Sky Mavis, the Forgotten Runiverse team has dedicated more than three years to creating a comprehensive MMORPG aimed at mainstream audiences, and it will be available for free on both mobile and desktop platforms.

Trung Nguyen expressed that Forgotten Runiverse's goal of building a game that encourages community engagement through shared stories, adventures, and experiences aligns perfectly with the ethos of the Ronin community. He looks forward to bringing this genre and gameplay style to their audience and embracing The Cult within the Ronin ecosystem.

Developed and launched by a team with experiences at renowned studios like Ubisoft and Blizzard, Forgotten Runiverse is a free-to-play pixel-art MMORPG inspired by the narratives of the Forgotten Runes Wizard’s Cult NFT collection. It has grown into a transmedia franchise encompassing a comic series, an upcoming animated TV show, and a large ecosystem filled with 110 million digital collectibles.

This game enhances the franchise further by allowing users to actively participate in the development of the narrative and in-game events, creating a rich collaborative environment. Players can join forces to form guilds, venture on PvE missions, and engage in PvP confrontations, all while crafting a variety of items from resources gathered around the game world.

Forgotten Runiverse will transfer its NFT collections to the Ronin platform and kick off a closed beta test on July 31.

As part of the transition strategy, items central to the game, including Forgotten Runiverse Real Estate, Game Items, and Watcher’s Rings, will also move to this new platform. Furthermore, Forgotten Runiverse is set to become available on the Epic Game Store later this year, with steps taken to fully optimize the experience for mobile users.

The game will begin with an exclusive closed beta test starting on July 31, followed by a public gameplay event in August. This initial release will feature an early preview event called New Foundations, offering players the chance to mint and build on plots, alongside various mintable gameplay rewards to enhance their experience and encourage player involvement. Players can anticipate an array of dungeons filled with unique quests and story elements to discover. The upcoming event is designed to engage gamers worldwide in create-to-earn opportunities within a vast fantasy universe while delving deep into the lore of the Forgotten Runes Wizard’s Cult through Runiverse gameplay.
