On April 1, the Fetch.ai Mainnet will receive a significant upgrade aimed at improving security measures and operational processes.
In Brief
Fetch.ai has confirmed a planned upgrade scheduled for Tuesday, April 1st, at approximately 13:00 UTC, which will proceed if governance proposal #35 gains approval.

As a pioneer in decentralized AI infrastructure and a founding member of the Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) Alliance, Fetch.ai continues to lead in innovation. Fetch.ai The scheduled upgrade of Fetch.ai is set for Tuesday, April 1st at around 13:00 UTC, contingent upon the approval of governance proposal #35.
This upgrade, focusing on maintenance, is designed to improve both security and operational efficiency while minimizing disruptions for network users. The married governance model with the cosmos-sdk ensures that only FET delegates active on the Fetch.ai mainnet will have voting rights, meaning that those staking FET on Ethereum, BSC, or Cardano won't be affected.
This upgrade addresses a critical vulnerability, ASA-2025-004, found within the IBC module, significantly enhancing the security of cross-chain transactions. Furthermore, it enables validators to import unprotected cryptographic keys (secp256k1 and ed25519), making node configuration easier while preserving robust security measures.
Fetch.ai is calling on validators to gear up for the upcoming system upgrade and cast their crucial votes to help maintain network stability.
At block height 21,267,067, the network will automatically stop with an expected downtime of about one hour. Validators are expected to follow the provided upgrade protocol closely to facilitate a seamless upgrade. Participation from all active validators is highly recommended, with the aim of restoring services swiftly. Following the upgrade, the network will resume usual operations without changes to the APIs or chain state.
Validators need to study the technical manual and configure their systems before the designated cutoff block. The Fetch.ai team will oversee the progress of the upgrade and will issue updates through official communication channels once it’s complete. Existing delegators are encouraged to vote with tools like ASI-Wallet, Leap Wallet, or Cosmostation wallet. This upgrade embodies Fetch.ai's commitment to network dependability, and the collaboration of validators and delegators is essential for the ecosystem’s ongoing stability.
Fetch.ai Fetch.ai merges AI with blockchain to establish a decentralized platform for autonomous agents. These agents are capable of performing various tasks, such as managing bookings and processing financial transactions by negotiating and executing agreements on behalf of users. The ultimate goal of the platform is to democratize AI accessibility, allowing users to create, launch, and monetize AI services within a decentralized economy.
Recently, Fetch.ai rolled out the ASI-1 Mini, a large language model (LLM) tailored for Web3, designed to manage intricate and autonomous workflows.
