ENS domain 000.eth sells for $320,000
On Monday, the domain '000.eth' was sold for 300 ETH (roughly $320,000 as of this writing). The new owner not only possesses this domain but also holds prestigious NFTs like Bored Ape #3553 and Fidenza #299. Additionally, their wallet contains two more ENS domains.
This sale marks the second-highest ever recorded for an ENS domain; the top spot is still held by 'paradigm.eth', which fetched 420 ETH back in October 2021.
ENS, which stands for Ethereum Name Service, is a decentralized naming system that is open-source. It serves multiple purposes, including acting as a cryptocurrency address, a Web3 username, and directing users to decentralized websites.
The Ethereum Name Service was launched in May 2017, and over the past year, its adoption surged, skyrocketing from 242,000 registered names to a staggering 1.4 million.
