Elon Musk gives slurp juice to the apes

In what feels like an understated guerilla marketing tactic, Elon Musk’s Twitter profile now showcases an array of Bored Apes, which has sparked interest and sales among his 90 million followers, many of whom are learning about the NFT craze thanks to their favorite Star Lord.
Musk's new profile picture displays a vibrant collection of apes, alongside a striking golden ape standing out in blue. While it might seem like he’s claiming ownership, it seems more like a wink at the infamous ‘right-click, save as’ meme associated with NFTs, subtly implying a jest about digital ownership. NFTs are dumb .

Interestingly, Elon has yet to adopt the signature hexagonal profile picture that’s often a giveaway of NFT ownership. Like many in the community, he appears to be engaging with the ape phenomenon without actually owning any.
Nevertheless, his playful gesture has certainly impacted the Ape market. Following his first tweet featuring this profile picture, reports indicate that the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) sold an impressive 27 apes within half an hour, significantly boosting the collection’s momentum.
OpenSea analytics revealed that more than $21 million worth of Bored Apes, Mutant Apes, and Otherside NFTs exchanged hands in the hour succeeding Musk’s initial tweet showcasing his new avatar.
