Cosmetics Brand Laneige Introduces a New Metaverse Storefront

Laneige This marks Laneige's first digital store setup in collaboration with Obsess, a company specializing in creating metaverse shopping environments.

The store will boast an easy checkout experience alongside visual splendor, gaming elements, and a 360-degree video showcase. Five unique virtual rooms dedicated to Laneige's products and themes will be available, including an underwater setting, a whimsical candyland carousel, and a dreamlike drifting cloud landscape.

Visitors will have the chance to explore the composition of Laneige's products through an interactive educational space dubbed the 'lab', where brand ambassador and actress Sydney Sweeney will provide exclusive insights.

Users can engage in a skincare quiz tailored to help them find products that suit their specific skin types. Additionally, there will be opportunities to earn products and rewards by participating in virtual treasure hunts.

'The rapid growth of virtual storefronts in both brand visibility and consumer acceptance is evident. Our data from over 85 million interactions on the Obsess platform indicates that these interactive environments significantly enhance customer engagement and purchasing habits,' explained Neha Singh, Founder and CEO of Obsess.

On a related note, Obsess has previously developed metaverse shopping environments for notable brands including Ralph Lauren, Universal Music Group, Mattel, Tommy Hilfiger, and Charlotte Tilbury.

Beauty brands are increasingly venturing into the metaverse. Earlier this month, Urban Decay threw a party launched its own offerings in the metaverse. The company is introducing 18 unique virtual makeup looks on Roblox, a global immersive platform, aimed at the next generation of beauty influencers.
